If you’re just joining, welcome to the Bitterroot Scrap Wood Series!
Head over to Day 1 to catch the beginning of the shenanigans, as well as our exciting news.
Long story short – I’m sharing a new scrap wood project every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in May and this is Day 6!
Our close family friends are expecting their first baby this June, so I made these baby age blocks for the baby shower a couple weeks ago.
They’re perfect for monthly, weekly, or yearly baby photos and are a quick craft.
Tools & Supplies:
- Stick on Letters
- Stick on Numbers
- Miter Saw (or any saw)
Lumber:
- Spare 4 x 4
Step 1.
Cut two 4×4 pieces at 3.5″ for the age blocks. Cut one 4×4 at 8″ for the time block.
Step 2.
Sand and stain as desired. I used Minwax Special Walnut.
Step 3.
Once the stain has completely dried, apply stickers. Use the following numbers on each of the age blocks in order to have the correct combinations available:
Block 1 numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Block 2 numbers: 0, 1, 6, 7, 8, 9
You can provide as many or as few time-frame options as you want. I used all four sides of the 8″ block and labled them days, weeks, months, years.
Step 4.
Seal with an acrylic spray.
Simply stack the blocks and take your photos!
Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
Thanks for stopping by!
